Hashimoto's Thyroiditis
What is Hashimoto’s thyroiditis?
Hashimoto's thyroiditis, also known as Hashimoto’s disease, is an autoimmune disorder where the body's immune system attacks the thyroid, a small gland located at the base of the neck, that helps control energy and metabolism. This attack leads to the death of the thyroid’s hormone-producing cells and results in decreased hormone production (hypothyroidism). When the thyroid doesn’t make enough hormones, it can make a person feel tired, gain weight, develop dry skin, hair loss, constipation, irregular or excessive menstrual bleeding, depression, problems with memory or concentration, and have trouble staying warm. Hashimoto’s disease is most common among middle-aged women, but anyone can develop the disease.
A common treatment for Hashimoto's disease is taking medication called thyroid hormone replacement. However, thyroid hormone replacement does not address the root cause of the disease. Our comprehensive protocol is designed to address the root causes of autoimmune disorders including Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, providing personalized support and effective treatments to help you regain control over your health.
